Enter Tongariro National Park then follow the historic Wanganui River to Wanganui.

DAY 4 Wellington, Picton (BD)
Today we join our cruise to the South Island. Travel across Cook Strait to Picton.

DAY 5 Picton, Hari Hari (BD)
Travel towards the wild and rugged West Coast and view the pancake rock formations at Punakaiki.

DAY 6 Hari Hari, Wanaka (BD)
Enter World Heritage Westland National Park and view mighty glaciers and lush native rainforest.

DAY 7 Wanaka, Queenstown (B)
We follow the Kawarau Gorge to the historic gold mining settlement of Arrowtown before continuing to Queenstown.

DAY 8 Queenstown at Leisure (B)

DAY 9 Queenstown, Milford Sound (BD)
Journey to Milford Sound through Fiordland National Park and board the Milford Mariner to cruise the length of the fiord. Spend the evening in Harrisons Cove.

Spend the morning exploring Milford Sound before journeying to the lakeside town of Te Anau.

Journey through the rural towns of Lumsden, Gore and Balclutha to Dunedin.

DAY 12 Mt Cook, Lake Ohau (BD)
This morning journey to Mt Cook National Park. There is time available for an optional scenic flight (own expense, weather permitting).

DAY 13 Lake Ohau, Christchurch (B)
Visit beautiful Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd before departing the High Country. Descend to the vast Canterbury Plains and return Christchurch. Free transfer to airport for flights after 5.30 p.m.
