A tour featuring two of New Zealand’s most impressive rail journeys – the TranzAlpine and the Taieri Gorge railway.

Day 1: Auckland – Christchurch
Fly to Christchurch where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation, free time for optional activities.

Day 2: Christchurch – Dunedin
Travel south across the Canterbury plains to arrive in Dunedin early afternoon.

Day 3: Dunedin – Taieri Gorge Rail – Queenstown
Morning free for optional tours. Begin your journey on the spectacular Taieri Gorge train before continuing by coach to Queenstown.

Day 4: Queenstown – Milford Sound – Queenstown
A full day tour taking in the wonders of the Eglington Valley, Homer Tunnel, Milford Sound and Mitre Peak. A cruise on the Sound is included.

Day 5: Queenstown
A free day for optional activities

Day 6: Queenstown – Glaciers
Travel via Lake Wanaka, across Haast Pass to the South Westland Heritage Park

Day 7: Glaciers
A free day to enable you to take an optional guided walk onto the glacier or a flight up to the neve.

Day 8: Glaciers – Greymouth – Christchurch – Auckland
Coach north to Greymouth, then board the TranzAlpine train to traverse the Southern Alps. On arrival in Christchurch you are met and transferred to the airport for your evening flight to Auckland.
